Introduces students to natural resources law and policy. The natural resources covered in the course include: wildlife, endangered species, forest reserves, mining, water resources, public lands (rangeland, national parks, and wilderness areas), and energy development. The course focuses on the federal allocation, but may include specific discussion on a number of regional issues (e.g. the Adirondacks and the Hudson Valley watershed) and an examination of property tools useful in conservation practices (e.g. conservation easement).
