Amy Melican is Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, at Tapestry, Inc., a leading New York-based design house of modern luxury accessories.  Tapestry is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and its portfolio includes the Coach, kate spade new york, and Stuart Weitzman brands.

Amy directs legal strategy and advises C-suite executives and other senior management located in North America on a variety of matters, including those involving consumer class actions, employment litigation, product liability, environmental claims, breach of contract, regulatory, internal investigations and post-merger integration of M&A activity.  She currently has oversight for a number of legal functions, including litigation, contracts, employment, intellectual property, brand protection and factory social compliance.

Before joining Tapestry in 2015, Amy was an attorney with Proskauer Rose LLP for more than 10 years, and advised and represented corporate clients in connection with complex litigation and employment issues.  Amy also was an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the New York City Law Department, Office of the Corporation Counsel, and clerked with both the U.S. Court of Appeals for Second Circuit and NYS Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department.
