Government Documents

The Schaffer Law Library maintains both United States and New York State documents depository collections. We have been a member of the Federal Depository Library Program since 1979, and we currently select 25% of all documents available to U.S. depository libraries. The library collects materials in the areas of law and public policy, with emphasis on materials from the U.S. Congress, the Justice Department and the Judiciary, as well as a wide range of New York State documents. Information on specific titles is available through our online catalog or by contacting a reference librarian.

Access to the depository collection is open to the public. Patrons requiring access to depository materials should make arrangement to visit the Schaffer Law Library when a reference librarian is available for assistance.

Congressional Directory	The Congressional Directory is the official directory of the U.S. Congress, prepared by the Joint Committee on Printing (JCP)
The White House	Finding tool for federal publications
Executive Orders	From the American Presidency Project at University of California, Santa Barbara: from John Quincy Adams to the present.
Daily Compilation of Presidential Documents	Access to federal government information for small businesses, prepared by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
United States Reports	A government-wide compendium of Federal programs, project, services, and activities that provide assistance or benefits to the American Public.
The Federal Judicial Center	The Federal Judicial Center is the research and education agency of the judicial branch of the U.S. government.
CIA World Factbook	The World Factbook provides information on the history, people, government, economy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 267 world entities.
