Mr. Benedict is a partner in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed,
Hadley & McCloy. He is chairman of the firm’s Litigation and Arbitration Group
and head of its Securities Litigation Practice Group. Prior to joining Milbank
he was a partner at Clifford Change where he served as the head of the Global
Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice.
He has been consistently honored by Chambers
USA as one of the nation’s leading securities litigators, and in 2009 was
the recipient of Chambers USA Award for
Excellence for Securities Litigation. He is a member of the Executive
Committee of the United States Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation Board.
Mr. Benedict continues to interview and hire students from Albany Law.
He received the Trustee Gold Medal in January 2014 for his dedication and
commitment to the Law School. Jim was the first supporter of the Government Law
Center’s Lawyer in Residence initiative.
He was past president of the Law School Alumni Council and was an editor on the
Albany Law Review for 2 years as a student.
